Max Hapner started off the meeting with one of his many experiences as a performer and the struggles that we must overcome. Tom Paine shared an article he found about Max in a 2005 Magic Magazine. Tom also performed a ten, or was it 13, card bridge effect. Gary Platt wowed us with a 'simplest trick' 3 card effect. Benji Bruce attempted to find a 'simplest trick' card that was named by a spectator. Dick Bowman performed John Bannon’s triumph card effect from one of his 'last performances'. Chris Faria astounded us with a UF Grant Poker deal as a 'MUM Highlight'. Martin Emerson had 4 rows of 4 cards that were in no particular order but when dealt out somehow arranged them into each value. Bill Wysong showed off a corner short 'gimmick'. Hank Miller demonstrated a bare handed silk production using a rubber band as the 'gimmick'. Frank Klein shared his 'wishes'. Justin Carmical found the red queens with the black queens and the aid of a spectator. Jade was able to mentally determine the time a spectator was thinking of and have the time appear on his watch. Brett visibly tied a knot into a silk and with a snap, it was gone. He shook the silk above his head and it was back. Marty McDowell fooled everyone with the four cards that resembled the selected card, which turned into the four aces, only to have the four aces back on the deck, with Marty holding the selection in his hand where the aces you to be. Larry Mahan shared hot experiences that he dealt with when transporting a shorted out 'Hot Book'. He also told of a rabbit that he produced that was, shall we say, not breathing and how his 'Rocky the Raccoon' training came in handy. Mark Weidhass showed the group his new method of transporting his newest effect 'Meal or no Meal' routine. |
