President's Corner
Our President's FamilyThe April "Flea Market" went well, though I fear we have lost some inertia with all that our club has been through since December. As you might recall, the December meeting is typically canceled due to the holiday season. In January we were snowed out though we did host the lecture by Barry Mitchell. In February and March we had to find alternate sites for meetings and were only able to meet once at Mr. Biggs. Much of the magic there is still ringing in my ears: it was good stuff. This raises a larger point.

All of us have busy schedules. I know of one of our pros who is busy five out of seven nights performing at restaurants in and around Colorado Springs. He usually can't get to a meeting until after 8 pm. But he still comes. His loyalty is remarkable and his enthusiasm is infectious. This is the kind of club member that I would like to see all of us "morph" into. Typically members of any club go through a set series of changes.

Firstly, there is fascination and high attendance. Everything is new and exciting. The second stage is what I call the "questioning" stage- the club member wonders if there is anything new but holds on holding out hope that there will be something to pique his interest. The third stage is boredom and begins a series of scheduled absences. Finally the member either stops coming or pushes past this to discover the good of the many outweighs his own needs and he begins to contribute. Lets get infectious with our enthusiasm and push beyond what we can take away. Youll discover that when you do you always get more out of the Sam Assembly than you ever dreamed of.
